Since 1985, Our House Addiction Recovery Centre has successfully helped men overcome the disease of addiction and go on to live healthy lives in recovery.
Q. DOES MEDICAL INSURANCE PAY FOR TREATMENT?
Many private insurance companies are covering treatment for addiction. You will need to ask your insurance company if they will cover the fee.

Our wait list constantly fluctuates. For accurate information please contact our admissions department.
Q. HOW IS MY PRIVACY PROTECTED?
We take every measure necessary to assure your privacy is protected.
Q. WHAT CAN I BRING WITH ME?
To assist you in packing for your stay with us, please refer to the admissions check list for a list of what you can and cannot bring.
Q. WHAT CAN I NOT BRING WITH ME?
No drugs, alcohol, or any illegal substances. All weapons such as guns, knives, etc. No sexual movies, pornographic images, anything depicting child molestation or abuse, either in paper or electronic form (including laptops, cell phones or other electronic media storage device). No hand or power tools. No tool boxes. No personal furniture. No signal boosters, of any kind, to enhance wireless signals. No small appliances such as coffee makers, humidifiers, etc. No pets (including fish tanks).

Q. WHAT ARE THE CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION?
Abstinence from mood altering substances seven days prior to entering residency and professional referral.
Q. HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO STAY?
A typical stay lasts between 10 - 13 months, this depends upon each individuals situation.
Q. CAN I LIVE AT HOME AND STILL ENTER YOUR PROGRAM?
No. This is a residential program. You live in residence while participating in program.
Q. AM I ALLOWED TO WORK OR GO TO SCHOOL WHILE ATTENDING YOUR PROGRAM?
No. This is a full time residential treatment program.
Q. WILL I BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE BUILDING?
You are free to come and go when you are not in program. The first 30 days after admission you must be accompanied by a senior resident. You will not be allowed an overnight pass during the first 30 days. You must be in before curfew which is 11:00 PM Sunday through Thursday and 2:00 a.m. on weekends.
Q. WHAT IF I DO NOT HAVE ANY MONEY BUT I REALLY NEED YOUR PROGRAM?
You may apply for Social Assistance or Employment Insurance if you qualify. Also, some employers will cover costs associated with a recovery program.
Q. WILL MY FAMILY BE INVOLVED?
We understand the challenges of having a family member in the Treatment Program. Every effort is made to include family through counselor contact, and family day weekend as deemed necessary.
Q. DO YOU ACCEPT USE OF METHADONE?
Our House Addiction Recovery Centre does not allow the use of methadone in our program.
Q. CAN I MAKE PHONE CALLS, RECEIVE MAIL OR HAVE VISITORS?
Please refer to our guidelines How to visit. Making calls are allowed during scheduled times. You can have mail sent to Our House, all parcels are to be opened in front of your counselor.
