WHO NEEDS TO CONQUER....
ADDICTION
You KNOW An Alcoholic
Someone who can't stop at one drink. Who misses work. Who
ruins special occasions. Who gets violent when drinking.
You KNOW A Drug Addict
Someone who's behaviour is erratic or unpredictable. Who
has turned to crime to fund a habit.
You KNOW a Gambling Addict
Someone who gambles more than (s)he can afford to lose. Who
has lost family because (s)he spends too many evenings chasing
the big win.
These people are friends, neighbours, and even your children,
who can’t stop a destructive behaviour. They are addicted
to alcohol, drugs, gambling - or any combination. Addiction
is a disease and costs society billions of dollars each year.
WE BELIEVE
- It is difficult to look at a problem while living within
it. Our House provides a safe, structured environment in
which to work toward recovery.
- Addicts need to change. Our House helps clients learn
how to make healthy choices, which will not lead them back
into addiction.
- Continuous support is important to continuous recovery.
Our House continues to offer that support even after clients
have moved back to their homes or families.
STOPPING THE CYCLE
Our House Addiction Recovery is dedicated to stopping the
cycle by changing behaviours. Addicts come to Our House voluntarily.
They want to end their addictions, put their families back
together and start over.
Our House treats this devastating disease at its root cause.
Our House treats only those who truly want to make a life
change. Our House helps them to aquire skills to do this.
We help them make healthy decisions so they can return to
productive roles in society.
YOU CAN PROVIDE THE HELP
Our House is a not-for-profit, non-government funded facility
which has been helping addicts recover since 1985. Our House
is designed to provide long term solutions to one of the largest
social problems facing society today.
Your contribution, no matter the size, helps people who want
to help themselves. It helps to stop the cycle of destruction
in human lives. It helps to end the crime associated with
addictions.
